The Government of the Republic affirms that it has not yet established contacts with the company Starlink, owned by tycoon Elon Musk, which offers satellite Internet service.

The information was released by Carlos Enrique Alvarado, Minister of Science and Technology, before the Treasury Affairs Commission of the Assembly.

“We already had a meeting with a representative of a company, with Tim Foss, a month and a half ago; We have not yet met with Starlink or with SpaceX, but we are going to be making the necessary arrangements to have contact with them,” said Alvarado Briceño after a query from the ruling deputy Pilar Cisneros, about the possibility of bringing the Internet to remote areas due to means of satellite swarms.
