We must free ourselves of the hope that the sea will ever rest. We must learn to sail in high winds. – Aristotle Onassis
The inevitable south bound migration – here is an impromptu gathering at Marina Chiapas with 10 Panama Posse vessels on the docks

BURGEE SIGHTINGS
Welcome to the Panama Posse SY SUR
Greetings Panama Posse Voyagers
We’re a few months into this 20-21 season and while it’s been wonderful and inspiring to follow your adventures we would love to gather more video stories so we can share them at the end of the season in a longer, compilation video.
We invite, encourage and politely request that you share more of your journey via video.
The great news is you are carrying a professional video camera right in your pocket, yup your cellphone!
All we are asking is that you take a moment and record a quick video journal that includes:
Your name & vessel name
Where you currently are & which route you have been on
Where your are heading this season ?
What to share:
Stories of places you visited
Adventures you have had or Misadventures you had to overcome
Did something break that you had to fix
Have you met anyone unforgettable
Tasted any incredible food or beverage
Please turn your camera/phone horizontal when you make the video and perhaps someone can film you vs a selfie…
Please send any additional photos of videos that compliment the stories you share and remember to make a mark.
When you are ready to upload email us at news@panamamposse.com and we’ll send you an upload link.

FOCUS ON WEATHER
Maritime Climatology
Pilot Charts
depict averages in prevailing winds and currents, air and sea temperatures, wave heights, visibility, barometric pressure, and weather conditions at different times of the year and is divided into 12 months
The information used to compile these averages was obtained from oceanographic and meteorologic observations over many decades during the late 18th and 19th centuries.
The charts are intended to aid the mariner in selecting the fastest and safest ocean and coastal routes with regards to the expected weather and ocean conditions.
Pilot Charts are focused on cruising conditions, there is a diagram for every month of the year for each section. They are on the Panama Posse site under each country example https://panamaposse.com/colombia
Every one of these maritime areas have a graph for every month. You can in this way utilize the graph to find out about the breezes and flows in every month. Example Prevailing weather in Colombia in January
NEED CREW ? WANT TO CREW ? CREW LOGISTICS …
PANAMA POSSE <-> CREW
1) Please note that you are responsible for your CREW
2) You are also responsible for REPATRIATION and CLEARING FEES
3) We strongly consider a “flight home” deposit – typical last minute tickets are $$$$
4) Each CREW will have answered our initial questions but we do not know if these responses are truthful.
5) If anything goes wrong onboard, the buck stops with you. As captain, you are responsible for the total operation of the yacht including safety of crew, yacht and environment.
6) You are responsible for the conduct of the crew as well. And, of course, you are the navigator.
“DOMINO” hauled in this beautiful specimen –
wonder how many fish you have to eat to get this big ?
